Generous Donation from IBM Malaysia
Our heartfelt gratitude to IBM Malaysia for donating USD5,000 to our centre. This kind donation truly is a life-changing partnership with our centre. It has come a long way to help us reach out to those special needs children who are needy and unaffordable.

Amazing story of how Early Steps Care Centre was blessed with a wonderful learning kit from Malaysian Association of France (MAF) whom had heard about the pressing needs of more teaching resources for our special needs children at our centre. Malaysian Association of France and their ladies got together with very creative ideas for a fund raising effort at their 2011 Deepavali Celebrations! Through many emails exchanged, it was finally decided that they were able to purchase the basic curriculum of 16 "Shoe Box Tasks Learning Kit" from USA. Due to the high shipping costs, the gifts was delayed but it finally arrived at our doorstep on the 15th day of our Chinese Lunar New Year of the Dragon Year when Hao Zhi, cousin of one of their members, William Lee came home from the United States and he graciously helped brought them back for us!
Unfortunately the heavy package went missing through flights transit but thank God it was eventually found and hand delivered to William's home address 2 days upon arrival!
When school re-opened for the new season, teachers, parents and children who had been waiting in anticipation, were absolutely delighted with the "Shoe Box Tasks"! Children enjoyed the tasks immensely, with full-focus and attending skills! At the same time, these "Shoe Box Task" kits were not too difficult and burdensome to these bunch of special needs children to accomplish.
So once again, a BIG THANK YOU to all who participated in one way or another so that our children got to use these "Shoe Box Tasks"!

"My husband and I were devastated when we suddenly put all the pieces together and realized our 2 and half year old son was just not like other children his age and displayed a number of red flags for ASD.
After dealing with the grief and shock, we acted immediately and found Early Steps Care centre here in Cheras. From the very first contact, Early Steps have bent over backwards to help us in every way possible.
Our son, Ryan Elijah began the morning half-time program at the centre and he has loved it from the very beginning...he can't wait to go to school every morning...
We see fantastic improvements in our son, Ryan Elijah on a daily basis and the number of pleasant surprises we get about his development keeps multiplying. He is learning how to learn and is making connections and becoming increasingly spontaneous in a way we thought barely possible a year ago.
In just half a year, we have seen a number of improvements. His poor eye contact is now on par with a typical child. He had little or no imitation skills but now these skills are outstanding. He has picked up the ability to learn new skills very quickly, and he has great concentration in what he does these days. He is able to do his numbers and alphabets.
We are currently focusing on his speech and in the past few months, we have seen that he now understands basic instructions even though he is non-verbal.
We are really pleased and happy with how he has been progressing. We would like to thank all the teachers who worked with our son, Ryan Elijah. The teachers' hard work, love, support and positiveness has brought us as parents and son closer. No words can describe how much it means to us. Thank you again and God bless!" - Christina Fernandez

Visit To Beryl's Chocolate Factory
Another wonderful ending to the term semester is our visit to Beryl's Chocolate Factory on 26th August, 2011.
Thereafter, parents & teachers proceeded to the Splash Park at Capital Mall. The kids were thoroughly enjoyed the water play & splash features there!
We had our lunch at McDonalds where we gave Teacher Chloe Lim a cozy farewell.
